About the Clinic
Canterbury Acupuncture is located at Concorde House Clinic in the heart of Canterbury. It is run by Pippa Sequeira and Dominic Harbinson who have been running clinics for over 25 years for private patients, GP surgeries, rehab services and voluntary organisations.
Personalised Healthcare
Dominic Harbinson and Pippa Sequeira met in 1997 when they were classmates training in acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. They each have over 20 years’ experience in treating a wide range of conditions, acute and chronic, and their therapeutic skills have been honed over decades of clinical practice accompanied by in-depth and ongoing study and training. Most patients come through word-of-mouth recommendation as the clinic has a well-established reputation for providing successful, personalised treatment.

Pippa Sequeira
Pippa has been working as an acupuncturist in the Canterbury area since 2000 and her clinical skills have been refined over the decades since then.
Pippa has worked closely with the renowned Qigong master Zhixing Wang for nearly 20 years, as a dedicated student and as part of the administrative team organising retreats and weekend courses. She believes that a deeper understanding into others’ energy systems starts with understanding one’s own, and brings her passion for Qigong into her treatments and teaching.
When Pippa first graduated she undertook post-graduate clinical training at the Institute of Acupuncture in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where she received her International Diploma in Acupuncture.
She has also served as the Secretary to the Accreditation Committee for the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) for 19 years (2003-2022), and holds a First Class Honours degree in Physiology from The University of Sheffield.
Dominic Harbinson
Dominic’s acupuncture practice is largely inspired by the lineage system of Master Tung (1916-1975), a renowned practitioner with impressive clinical results. He also incorporates Ear and Scalp Microsystems Acupuncture where appropriate, having trained with John Tindall at the Yuan Traditional Medicine Clinic.
Dominic worked for 11 years as the in-house acupuncturist for the Saddleton Road, Whitstable and Seasalter NHS Surgeries (2007-2018) and has completed specialist post-graduate acupuncture training in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions (with Tony Brewer and Andrew Nugent-Head), fertility and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (with the Zita West Clinic), fire cupping techniques (with Michael Pringle), and cosmetic acupuncture (with Radha Thambirajah and John Tindall).

In 2009, he was the lead acupuncturist in the UK’s first feasibility study on acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of schizophrenia.
He served for ten years on the editorial board of the European Journal of Oriental Medicine (2003-2013) and has published an article on the treatment of pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) as well as several articles on acupuncture in the treatment of psychosis in EJOM and in other journals.
Dominic followed up his acupuncture training with a 2-year post-graduate course in Chinese Herbal Medicine at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, graduating in 2005. He then spent an intensive and very inspiring 4 months in China doing further clinical training at the Traditional Chinese Medicine University Hospital and at a private clinic in Chengdu (2005-2006).
He is a Member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine, and has completed specialist studies with a number of prominent teachers and experts in the Chinese medicine field including: the treatment of Auto-Immune Disorders (with Mazin Al-Khafaji); the Chinese herbal management of Diabetes (with Bob Flaws); and the internationally recognised Post-Graduate Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine Dermatology (from Mazin Al-Khafaji’s Avicenna Institute),
Dominic has also undertaken extensive training with Arnaud Versluys, a renowned Chinese herbalist, and through his Institute of Canonical East Asian Medicine (ICEAM) to learn a very specific system of diagnosis and herbal treatment. He was awarded his Diploma in Canonical Chinese Medicine (DCCM) in 2012 and continues his studies and ongoing clinical training in this system in the UK, Europe and the United States.
As a result of this training, all the herbal formulas he prescribes are drawn from the original classical texts of Chinese medicine dating back to approximately 220 AD. These formulas survive to this day because their effectiveness in maintaining health and treating illness has been proven over centuries, during which time they have been used by literally billions of people.
